WordGym Privacy Policy
WordGym ("we", "us", "the app") is a mobile-first word game that runs on web-capable devices and publishes via Firebase Hosting. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and how you can reach us.
1. Information we collect
- Username metadata (the display name you choose plus the internal Firebase UID when syncing progress).
- Gameplay data such as completed words, current streak, hint usage, and points to restore your session.
- Device and browser data (capabilities, screen size, platform) to adjust hints, layout, and difficulty.
- Interaction with ads—AdMob SDK collects limited data to serve rewarded videos and measure delivery.
2. How we use and store data
- Gameplay progress is saved locally in your browser storage for instant access and then mirrored to Firebase Firestore under users/{userId}/progress.
- Firebase Authentication handles usernames and the association between progress and your account.
- Ad interaction data stays with Google AdMob (rewarded video), and we never supplement it with extra identifiers beyond what the SDK collects.
- Gameplay and settings data remain encrypted at rest via Firebase—only you and authorized app processes can read it.
3. Cookies and local storage
We only use browser storage mechanisms (localStorage/sessionStorage) for storing hint credits, completed word IDs, and feature flags. No third-party cookie is added by WordGym itself apart from the AdMob scripts loaded when you watch a rewarded hint video.
4. Children and parental controls
WordGym is available to players of all ages. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before signing up so they can review this policy. We do not knowingly solicit or store extra personal data from children beyond the limited gameplay metadata described above.
5. Your rights
- Access & portability: request a copy of the data stored under your username.
- Correction: tell us if a detail (like email or username) is wrong and we will update the Firebase record.
- Deletion: ask for your data to be purged from Firebase and local storage; we will process the request promptly.
6. Third-party services
We rely on Firebase (Google) for hosting, authentication, and Firestore, and on Google AdMob for rewarded ads. Please review Google's own policies for detailed handling of advertising identifiers and analytics data.
